How can physiotherapy help?
We assess, diagnose, and treat a range of men’s health issues. Every session will vary depending on the individual and what their goals and needs entail. This will allow us to figure out the management plan so that we can have the best impact. All our men’s health sessions take place in a private room, so you can feel comfortable having a private discussion on your condition.
Our physiotherapists will perform an assessment of your bladder control muscles. This is done externally and will allow us to confirm you are correctly able to activate your pelvic floor muscles and give further information as to the strength and endurance of these muscles. From there we look at your body as a whole. We will assess for muscle strength, length and postural control.
Treatment will be tailored to your individual presentation. It may include muscle release techniques, stretches, mobilisation of the lower back, hips or pelvis, breathing exercises and postural retraining. You will also receive an exercise program to strengthen your pelvic floor and supporting structures. We believe that effective education and an individualised treatment plan is the key to successfully managing issues with sexual health so that you stay motivated and keep you on track.
